January 2017 News Update
Well mixed bag of news some good and some bad. Lets get the bad news out
of the way first. December saw us lose our very dear friend Sally who
unfortunately suffered a fatal heartache just before Christmas. The good
news is that she has had two excellent memorial services, one here in
Tenerife and one back in the UK. Our condolences and thoughts are with her
family.
More good news we had a tremendous night in The Plaza, Los Gigantes to
bring in the New Year. Around 1200 to 1500 people danced the night away
and we all had a great time. Audiences since New Year have been fantastic
with no seats available after 9.00 pm at Route 66 and equally busy at
Highland Paddy’s. It is so good to see so many people returning to Tenerife
and there is also a huge number of new faces in the audience. Tenerife is
absolutely rammed at the moment with accommodation almost impossible to
find which is great for business.
Even more good news was that our good friend Elaine Husband who has
organised the three Help for Heroes Charity Balls which we have been
honoured to perform at was awarded the British Empire Medal in the New
Years Honours List for her services to charities. Well done and well deserved.
On the home front Bob is recovering slowly from his recent replacement,
replacement hip operation. He was somewhat devastated when the surgeon
told him that he would never be the same again but being Bob he is
determined to walk properly and is still attending physio and training hard.
Bob & Jill had a restful week in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote with thanks to
Maureen for looking after the house and the animals. They had a pleasant
surprise when fans from Germany flew over just to see them perform at
Barney’s Bar where they always do a “One Night Only Gig” when they are in
Playa Blanca.
Dogs and cats all well although dogs beginning to show signs of old age.
Have fun and stay healthy.
